The Countrywomen (1942, dir John Page)
Shows the work of the Women's Institute in wartime as told by a countrywoman to a recently evacuated town woman. The setting is a fictional village called Callow Green, and the bus seen is a Bedford registration GV3447 going to Ribstone.
Bob Wingrove supplied these screencaps and was sure this was filmed in the Eastern National area. A little joint research identified the bus operator as Wiffens of Finchingfield, and the village (with help from Google maps) as Finchingfield in Essex. John Wakefield added: The destination on first pic (coming over the bridge)appears to be 'Gt Lullington' a fictitious place for the film no doubt
