Looks and Smiles (1981, dir Ken Loach)
Shot in monochrome in Sheffield, and punctuated by South Yorkshire PTE buses. The opening credits roll over a scene featuring four SYPTE Leyland Atlanteans, and heading towards the camera can be seen one of the small batch of MAN SG192R articulated buses operated by SYPTE. These were CLM346T and DAK301-4V, all of which were later passed to Oxford South Midland:
As the film's hero runs down the street he's passed by a Leyland-National B; the footage is blurred, but it appears to be South Yorkshire 14 (AAK114T):
An evening sequence shows three more Atlanteans:
Our hero's girlfriend leaves him at a bus stop; she boards SYPTE 298 (UWA298L), a 1973 Leyland Atlantean/Alexander:
Created with Boltwire.
