Merry Andrew (1958, Danny Kaye)
An unexpected entry: a Danny Kaye musical! An early scene has him riding a bicycle and passed by a double decker bus - a very odd beast. In London Transport livery, it has an open platform on the left, although it's driven on the right side of the road. There is no glass in the windows and the driver sits in the lower saloon with the passengers! Fleet number is N214. Would anyone like to attempt an identification?
Although the film-makers have gone to some trouble to pretend it's being filmed in England (but please don't mention the conductor's accent) - it clearly isn't.
The bus also appears in the James Garner movie Darby's Rangers also in 1958, possibly in another Danny Kaye film, Knock on Wood
Created with Boltwire.
