La Ragazza con la Pistola AKA The Girl With a Pistol (1968, Monica Vitti, Stanley Baker, Corin Redgrave, Tony Booth)
A Sicilian woman dishonoured by her lover goes to England with a pistol to murder him. Except she starts in Edinburgh. While she's negotiating with a policeman, two Edinburgh Corporation Leyland Titan PD2/20s pass; the second is 537 (LWS537), new in 1955 with Metro-Cammell body:
As she crosses the road, two Alexander Eastern Scottish vehicles are glimpsed, possibly Leyland Leopards:
Another Titan follows a Leyland Atlantean:
Vitti catches a coach to Sheffield. The coach in question is FJN210, a Leyland Royal Tiger/Burlingham new in 1952 to Westcliff-on-Sea. It later passed to Eastern National, but by the time it appeared in this movie it had gained a visor and looked a little tired:
There's some footage not in Sheffield, but in Rotherham, including the bus station - hence the very distant glimpse of two Rotherham Corporation 'deckers:
Footage of a rugby league match has several coaches parked alongside - a selection of the bodywork of the time, two Plaxtons and two Duples:
Scenes in London are inevitably punctuated by a brief glimpse of a London Transport AEC Routemaster:
....but rarer in movies, particularly Italian movies, is a Southdown 'Queen Mary', a Northern Counties bodied Leyland Titan PD3/4, seen in Brighton:
Created with Boltwire.
