Our Street: Hugh Street, St Marys, Isles of Scilly (BBC documentary, 1987)
A half hour documentary shown on BBC2 South West features two of the buses operating on St Marys in the Isles of Scilly in 1987. First seen, inside and out, is Vic's Tours FDL842. This Bedford OB/Duple was new to Pearce of Ryde (Isle of Wight) in 1949. It passed to Vic Trenwith in 1963, serving until 1987:
The second is Woodcocks SUO430H, seen delivering the newspapers, I would guess from the airport. This Bristol LH/Eastern Coachworks was new in 1970 as Western National 1565, and moved to Woodcocks in 1982:
Twin artists Patsy and Janet Swanborough were commissioned by the BBC to paint an aerial view of Hugh Street for the programme, and they are seen working on the painting. Both FDL842 and SUO430H are depicted in the finished article, which can be viewed at their studio:
