Buses on Screen - Films N-Nl

Naked Fury (1959, Kenneth Cope)
"Fairly typical B gangster film of the 50s, but the start is a panoramic night shot of the Thames, from the Palace of Westminster along the Embankment. The camera zooms in to the road and a car carrying a bunch of thugs who have kidnapped a woman. The car pulls up at a set of traffic lights followed by a Yeates Riviera bodied coach (unidentifiable chassis) the registration might be identifiable on a better recording." (thanks Stuart Turner)
The Naked Gun 2 1/2 (1991, Leslie Nielsen, Priscilla Presley, OJ Simpson)
In one scene Simpson is run over by a bus. It's an Eagle 5 - except that when seen from behind it's an MCI MC-7!
The Naked Lunch (1991, Peter Weller, Judy Davis, Ian Holm)
"Some North American buses of 1950s vintage appear at a bus station in an Arab country." (thanks Carlos Wallberg)
Nearest and Dearest (1972, Hylda Baker, Jimmy Jewell
"Nellie Pledge disembarks from an ex-Bolton Corporation full-fronted Leyland Titan or AEC Regent with the destination "Colne" and the fleetname 'The Northern Bus Co.' Later in the film there is a glimpse of the trams in Blackpool." (thanks Alan Sinclair)
The Net (1995, Sandra Bullock)
This is one of many movies featuring San Francisco's streetcars.
Never On Sunday AKA Pote tin Kyriaki (1960, Melina Mercouri)
Filmed in Greece, and has a brief shot of a Pireaeus trolleybus and some good shots of a Pireaeus streetcar. (thanks Richard DeArmond)
New Police Story (1996, Jackie Chan)
Flashy and in English clumsily titled remake of Chan's 'Police Story' has, like the latter, and 'Police Story 2', a stunt set piece involving a bus. Instead of a DMS-type Daimler Fleetline, this time it's a Dennis Dragon. After the driver is shot, the huge double decker goes spectacularly out of control.

Chan's character finds himself on the roof and then aboard the bus as it crashes into traffic and demolishes street furniture and shops.

At one point the bus is deroofed:

Ultimately the bus crashes into a truck full of yellow rubber ducks and pushes it and them into the harbour, and the Dragon is left teetering on the brink in Italian Job style.

Set and filmed in Mexico. Burton is working as a tour guide and drives an International bus for Blakes Tours - badly.
Night Train to Munich (1940, Rex Harrison, Margaret Lockwood)
Chris Hough notes "a brief scene-setting shot of two normal control Berlin double deckers passing along a street."
The Night We Got the Bird (1960, Brian Rix, Dora Bryan et al)
The characters played by Rix and Bryan travel from the church after their wedding along Brighton seafront on Brighton Hove and District 992 (GHT127), a 1941 Bristol K5G/Eastern Coachworks open topper ex Bristol Tramways. The rear view shows the destination as 17 to Rottingdean, and the conductor with Ultimate ticket machine. (+Colin Read)

A San Francisco Flyer trolleybus pulls away from a stop leaving a passenger behind. (thanks Richard DeArmond)
